ENGLISH TEACHING CURRICULUM, METHOD,TECHNIQUES AND ACTIVITIES
Meridian International School designs its ELT in two categories – Ukrainian and International Classes.
Meridian International School is a proud Pearson Edexcel International Examinations Centre. Hence, the school is part of Pearson Edexcel, which is the UK’s largest awarding body and the world’s leading learning company of international education programs and qualifications for students aged between 5 and 19 years old. Pearson partners with schools, colleges and employers, globally, to offer qualifications to over 3.4 million students a year in more than 120 countries and 6500 schools.
Meridian International School applies an eclectic approach, which refers to a teaching approach, not based on a single method (e.g. task-based teaching, or CLIL), but one that draws on several different method principles that are made use of in practice. It is a problem-based approach to teaching. This approach is followed in Ukrainian Classes within the context of Ukrainian State Curriculum and International Curriculum for English Language Learners concertedly with MacMillan and Pearson. In other words, Meridian learners aged from 3 to 18 acquire the language skills, both in national and international competence, by performing well in real life and examinations. Therefore, Meridian does not only prepare students for DPA and ZNO, which are mandatory exams, but also for International English Exams such as Cambridge Starters, Movers, Flyers, KET, PET, FCE and IELTS.
Meridian International School offers a variety of online resources to make learning engaging and provides a fun way to learn, which is convenient as well as to fit the ESL student’s individual learning needs.
